For 2008, Blancpain presents a world-exclusive all-white version of its Fifty Fathoms Chronographe Flyback.

Acknowledged for its tradition of innovation in the field of horological complications, Blancpain created the first modern diver’s watch launched in 1953: the famous “Fifty Fathoms”. In 2007, the Manufacturer from Le Brassus, Switzerland reinterpreted this watchmaking legend by developing a collection comprising three models: Automatique, Chronographe Flyback and Tourbillon. These were each endowed with the key distinctive features that earned the original Fifty Fathoms its sterling reputation, along with the subsequent improvements made to the line.

Issued in a limited edition of just 20, the dial of this unprecedented version of the Fifty Fathoms Chronographe Flyback sports the Monaco coat-of-arms appearing against an immaculate white backdrop. Crafted in scratchproof sapphire, the unidirectional rotating notched and raised bezel avoids any inadvertent extension of the diving time. The luminescent white coating applied to the hours, trapeze-shaped hour-markers and rhodium-plated gold 12 o’clock numerals, as well as the pearl grey Luminova on the bezel markers, reveal their phosphorescent green colour only in the shadows or in the darkness prevailing at great depths beneawth the ocean.

Equally at home both below and above sea-level, this top-rate chronograph will delight professional divers as well as water sports enthusiasts. Thanks to the system of special gaskets hidden inside the 45 mm-diameter steel case, the chronograph pushpieces are perfectly water-tight and functional down to a depth of 300 metres. In an additional touch of refinement, the chronograph is equipped with a flyback function, a longstanding Blancpain speciality. This sophisticated system serves to instantly restart a new timing operation by pressing a pushpiece at 4 o’clock, without needing to stop and reset the hands. The Fifty Fathoms Chronographe Flyback M.Y.S. is fitted with a sturdy, sporty and water-resistant strap in rubber-lined white sailing canvas, complete with a pin buckle.
