Hästens has been hand making beds since 1852 and is understandably proud of their reputation for craftsmanship. The quality of the natural materials used, in the hands of expert craftsman to produce their outstanding mattresses is recognised throughout the world. Bed expert, Brent Cooper first introduced Hästens beds to London in 2002 and was so impressed by their quality that he set out to open the UK’s first dedicated Hästens showroom, Hästens West End. This was quickly followed by the opening of Hästens Kings Road, the UK’s largest collection of Hästens beds, and Hästens Walton-on-Thames in Surrey.

Hästens have now taken this passion to new levels with the introduction of the new Vividus, a bed created with an attention to detail never seen before in the mattress industry; a bed that is so superior in design and quality that it stands head and shoulders above anything ever produced before.

The Vividus collection is the most elite bed that Hästens offer and has received both celebrity and royal endorsement. Each Vividus is hand-made to order by expert craftsmen and created with an attention to detail never seen before in the bed industry – a customers’ weight, build, age and taste is taken into account when creating their personal Vividus. Each bed is signed by the Hästens Master Craftsman, is finished with a personalised signature plate and like all Hästens beds is accompanied with a 25 year guarantee.

Each mattress is produced using the finest natural materials, and in the case of the Vividus these are the very best, specially selected materials that are hand picked for their unique natural qualities; pure new wool that keeps you warm in winter and cool in the summer, the finest cotton weave with it’s soft, moisture resistant and flexible properties, sumptuous layers of individually hand teased horsehair, 3 layers of virgin steel coils that are individually and naturally flax-insulated and hand tied. Eight layers of luxurious fillings skilfully layered above and below the springs.

Each pocket is hand sewn, each tuft placed with precision, each joint is hand dovetailed, with slats that are attached with oak dowels and cotton lining secured with brass upholstery nails, the legs are specially designed to reinforce stability.
